Pokkén Tournament is a fighting arcade game developed by Namco Bandai Studios and published by The Pokémon Company. The game combines gameplay elements of the Tekken series from Namco Bandai with characters from Pokémon Nintendo franchise. He was released to Japanese arcades July 16, 2015, and the world to the Wii U March 18, 2016.
Pokkén Tournament is a fighting game in which two fighters are fighting against each other using various Pokémon, with gameplay lag between “phase field” where Pokémon roam freely around the arena, and “Duel phase “where they move relative to each other similar to the Tekken games. Unlike most combat arcade games, using a joystick and traditional buttons, the arcade version is played using the style of console controllers, which are designed so that players who are not used to arcade sticks can get into the game more easily. The game focuses more on action, as opposed to the more technical gameplay of Tekken, allowing both hardcore and casual fans to enjoy. As such, players can perform various techniques from the Pokémon series, such as special moves and Mega Evolutions (which can be built from attacks using a “Gauge Synergy”). Players can also use Help Pokémon to give them special benefits such as fans in attack or defense. October 30, 2015, Surface images of a boss fight with a new form of Mewtwo, known as “Shadow Mewtwo”; the character was teased in an official trailer a few days later. Wii U first printing copies of the game were packed with amiibo Shadow Mewtwo card, which immediately released the nature of use. The title also includes online play, where players can participate in two types of online battle modes called friendly battles and rated battles, including matches between players with codes and players who enter the same code VS the other friend saved.
